Week of Safety
Recognize signs of undermining before it’s too late
This week is Security Week. A good time to consider how resilient your company is against criminal interference. Because preventing criminals from abusing your company starts with awareness. With yourself and your employees.
Criminals need transportation and prefer to use ordinary businesses and their processes. The floriculture sector is vulnerable because criminal networks know logistical efficiency and use international transit for their own gain. Think drug smuggling or cash laundering. Often it starts with a small favor, an employee in trouble or an innocent request. By learning to recognize signals, you can prevent your employees and your company from getting sucked into them.
To take that first step, the Weerbare Sierteeltsector approach is offering a free e-learning. In 15 minutes you will learn:
– what undermining is,
– how criminals can abuse your business,
– what signs you can recognize,
– and what you and your colleagues can do to prevent it.
The e-learning is available in Dutch and English, for both managers and employees.
Make it a priority during Safety Week. Put the e-learning on the agenda, for example in work meetings or during coffee mornings. In this way, you make safety negotiable, create awareness and work towards a strong, resilient floriculture sector.
