Focus points SDG in approach Resilient Floriculture sector

What does crime in floriculture have to do with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) number 16? In our Resilient Ornamental Horticulture approach, we pursue the same goals! Many horticulture entrepreneurs are working with SDG goals in their annual plans and turning them into concrete actions. Goal number 16 is about significantly reducing violence, fighting organized crime and ending corruption and bribery, among other things.

These are all focal points in our approach with the Resilient Ornamental Horticulture Sector and our partners. So the similarity is easily found. The floriculture industry is known to be abused by criminals for transporting drugs, weapons and cash, among other things. Extortion is one of the means used by them.

In 2015, all 193 member countries of the United Nations (UN) adopted the Sustainable Development Goals. The goals apply to all countries and all people.
