Royal FloraHolland Invests in Employee Awareness
As a partner in the “Weerbare Sierteeltsector” initiative, Royal FloraHolland has actively worked in recent months to further educate employees and suppliers about subversion. At all locations, employees are being trained and updated on what subversion is, what forms it takes in the floriculture sector, and what signs may indicate its presence. This is done using recognizable real-life examples and situations from recent years.
By 2026, more than 800 international employees will have been reached at the Naaldwijk location. The Aalsmeer and Rijnsburg locations will follow later this year. In addition, Facilicom and Heijmans employees who work daily at the auction grounds have also been included in information sessions. Employee engagement is high: people want to contribute to a safe and pleasant work environment.
A key message in the awareness sessions: if something doesn’t seem right, deviates from the norm, someone is behaving suspiciously, or something just doesn’t feel right, report it. It’s important that employees know the proper reporting channels. Employees can contact security on the RFH grounds, their supervisor or confidential advisor, or the community police officer assigned to each site. Reports are always handled with care; anonymous reporting is also possible, for example, through RFH’s Speak-up hotline.
The idea behind this approach, which involves information sessions, is simple: together, we can see more. And together, we can ensure a safe and pleasant work environment for everyone who works on the Royal FloraHolland grounds.
